How do I check the status of my refund?
You can check the status of your refund at the IRS' Where's My Refund 24 hours after it's accepted by the IRS electronically. To verify your information, you will be asked to provide your Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), filing status and exact federal refund amount located on Line 35a of your federal tax return.
Please note that this IRS site allows you to track the status of your 2021, 2022, and 2023 federal refunds.
You cannot use this IRS tool to track returns that were paper filed (mailed to the IRS).
